Is this normal?

imablugrl Jan 17, 2005 11:36 PM

I've lived with cats for a while, but only recently became a kitten's mommy!
She is 15 weeks old and just today started displaying some odd behaviour. She is walking around, low to the ground, very slowly. She is not "assuming the position", not more affectionate than usual & not spraying. Oh, she is not screaming either.
Is she in heat, or what is causing her to be so weird? She is also looking around the room like she is lost. She's jut not acting right. Any tips?
TIA!

It's hard to say with out seeing her. Is she stocking something (hunting)?
Have you brought her to the vet for her first check up yet? That is something you should do as soon as you get a new pet.
I'm sure other will have some better ideas to what she is doing.

Whenever you see such a change in a cat's behavior, you should get a vet check ASAP. However, from your description it sounds like she is in heat. Cats will vary in how they behave while in heat.

I recommend a vet check for her - just to be sure that there is not something else wrong. I hope you are going to spay the kitten!
