Stray cat driving my family crazy!

canland Apr 03, 2005 03:18 PM

I have never seen such a thing as this...a stray cat (who we have never seen before two days ago when he arrived at our back door) has been meowing LOUDLY at our back door NONSTOP since he arrived. I finally let it in for a second last night because he was driving us all so crazy and he bit me on the leg as I walked past him--not hard--no broken skin--but I immediately put him back out and he is still meowing out there right now! It won't stop!

Any suggestions? We have two cats, neither of whom are female or in heat. This is the weirdest thing ever...the cat is just so insistent. I can't imagine what his problem is.

He is probably hungry and lonely. The fact that he bit you is more likely because he was playing or had some mis-directed aggression.

Since you aren't able to adopt him, the kindest thing to do is to try to find a rescue group that might foster him, or in the worst-case scenario have your local animal control come pick him up.
