i just adopted a 6 yr old cat today and she wont come out of the closet. anyway is this normal the lady said to keep her enclosed in 1 room for a coupkle of days till shes used toit then let her roam

Yes, this is certainly normal. Cats sometimes hide for dasy (even weeks) in a new environment. Let her be in the closet, keep the door open and keep water, food and litterbox righ tin front of it. After a couple of days you can try to entice her out with good smelleing food, but don't force her if she doesn't ant to. With cats it should always be on their terms, no forcing. With a bit of patience and much TLC she will come out in due time.
And yes, when she does come out, maybe keep her in that room for another couple of days before letting her roam.
