What do i feed to a baby Eastern Milk Snake?

I desperately need help. My neighbor found this baby snake (about twice as big as an average size worm)at his workplace. They almost killed it, they thought it was a copper head. I offered to keep him/her alive for a few days so my 4 year old can take it in to her preschool. Obviously, he/she is way too small to eat a mouse. I read they eat bugs, but what kind? Any suggestions? Can baby snakes go for several days without eating? (he/she would not touch the spider and the ants that we put in his cage.

They eat infant mice, called pinkies, which you can get at most pet stores. They sell them frozen and you just defrost and serve, best method for me is put the pinkie in a baggy and pour hot (not boiling) water over the baggy and let sit a few minutes.

Feed him some place he feels comfortable and not scared and be sure he cannot injest any substrate that might stick to the mouse.

Babies like you found need to eat at least once per week and I would feed him right away since you don't know when he ate last in the wild!
