Spayed female Persian ~ behaving as if in heat

Tektum Feb 15, 2006 03:42 PM

My one year old female persian was spayed in December 2005 and its now february 2006, but she acts as if she is still in heat periodically. She will pull small toys out and start acting as if she is mounting them and she does that weird muelling sound like a cat in heat. what gives, did I get swindled at the vet?
Thanks so much, Leo

It is not uncommon for a cat to display female behvior after a spay. Usually it is because there is some ovarian tissues left behind. Sadly this means another run of surgery, however, your cat does need to examined by a vet to be sure what is going on. If the behaviors are not anoying to you, then she may be OK without further intervention.

Good luck. Let us know what the vet says!
