Odd Bathroom Behavior

Melt_Away Jun 29, 2006 11:59 PM

I got a new kitten from the pound. She's about 8 weeks old and her name is Jenna. She's a little black furball and very friendly.

Anyway, I was in the bathroom while I was brushing my teeth and she comes into the bathroom and I just figure that she's following her mother again and will leave when I do and follow me into bed as always. Not this time. She went behind the toilet and pressed up in a ball against the shower and stayed there for about five minutes and went darting under the toilet and curled up under the sink, pressing up against the corner. I found that odd behavior because she usually just sits there and meows until I'm done. I finished and bent down to see her and get a closer look and I go to pet her and she hissed at me.

She NEVER hisses. Any ideas on why she acted that way? So far, it only happened once..

Hi There,

I think that something happened to Jenna to frighten her, especially if this is still a one-time thing. It sounds to me like she was trying to hide and hissed at you out of fear. Not that she was afraid of you, but she may have been reacting to something that scared her.

Sometimes a cat may act like this if she isn't feeling well. If Jenna hasn't yet been to a vet, this may be a good time to take her.

Regards,
PHKitkat
