My previously active and energetic cat has been acting very strange lately over the past 3 or so days he just sits down and stares at the wall or into nothingness. not in a like 6th sence kind of way but just copletely non emotional. He is just over a year old so hes very young and fit and loves being and staying outside. I first noticed him acting weird wen he came in and stayed in my room over night and still stayed in, on my bed the whole of the next day, and the day day after that until about 3pm wen my mum put him outside.
We dunno wots wrong wiv him its so out of character, i think somebody injected him wiv something because it seems to be emotional.
Anyone with any thoughts plz let me know.

Hi,

Your cat really needs to be examined by a vet. Anytime a cat's behavior changes as drastically as yours has, there is something seriously wrong. And the age of the cat doesn't matter. Since he goes outside, which he shouldn't, he could have experienced some trauma or even gotten into something toxic.

Please make an appointment and take your cat in, or have your parents do it if you can't. Your cat's life may be in danger. Please don't let him outside, either. He would be in even more danger now.

Regards,
PHKitkat

Thanks for your reply PHKitKat, Trix has got an appointment with the vets today and im just waiting now. I really hope it can be fixed whatever it is because he really is a meaningful part of this family. He has been in the house for another full day, on the sofa where i moved him to yesterday morning, he is still there now.
Any one else with some helpfull comments please let me know. Thankyou.

Well we brought him to the vet yesterday and they said it could be a viral or bacterial infection because he was in pain every time the vet touched his spine. It's like sometimes when you get a cold your back hurts you. He said the best thing to do was to keep him in over night and they can do some tests and find out what the problem is. He said the worst it could be is Cat aids or Lukemia I am praying it is none of these. My mum thinks he could of fallen off something and hurt tis back. Trix is sill at the vets now and i hope and pray he is gona be alright. He's my baby and is only a year old.
