The younger of my 2 cats is a 1 year old male. He has done strange things since we brought him home. Recently we were able to add the stealing and hiding of objects. The first thing we noticed was a missing spatula. It had been on the kitchen counter, then went missing. We thought we had misplaced it until the kitty was spotted trotting around with it. This was one of several things that would go missing only to be found with our darling kitty. Another strange thing he recently began taking is rather large stuffed animals that usually range between 5-6 times his size. When we try to take the utensils away from him on occassion he growls (sounding somewhat like a small dog.) Is this normal kitty behaviour?

Some cats just like to steal things. I have one that will steal my reading glasses whenever she gets the chance. She will also get into my purse and take things out. Usually whatever she steals turns up in the middle of the living room a few days later. It's like she kind of borrows my things and gives them back when she is done playing with them!

I once had a cat that liked to drag towels around the house and another that would steal my socks.

So, this kind of behavior isn't all that unusual
