Night Behavior

My 2 yr old Tortie comes in my room at about 2 or 3am almost every night - then just sits there and meows and meows. If I try to touch her or pick her up, she runs away. This goes on for about a 1/2 hour or so, then she lays down and goes to sleep. Any thoughts on what is going on here? Thanks!

Hey There

My boy does this (8 month old) at around 4am and all he needs is for me to wake up and acknowledge him. I think it's like a reassurance thing, not totally sure but sometimes I sleep through it.

Hi There,

She may just want attention, or perhaps she is even telling you that she loves you. I would just talk to her for a few minutes when she does this, since she doesn't want to be handled at all. You might also try feeding her a snack before you go to bed if you don't leave dry food out.

I have 2 red girls that like to wake me up by patting my face in the middle of the night, and another one that likes to lick my face. I wake up, pet them for a few minutes, and tell them I love them. They seem satisfied with this........lol

Torties and calicos can be a little bit different and hard to figure out. I say this with affection, as I am owned by 2 wonderful torties and I love them dearly

Take care,
PHKitkat

Thank you both for your replies - I was thinking it was just an attention thing, but I'm a worrier! I have 3 cats and they are all so different - but I love them, they are my babies!
