Scared of bedroom

kalifornia97 Sep 21, 2007 09:23 AM

I've had my cat, Lucy for approximately 6 months now, and have never had a problem with her. Recently, I moved into an apartment, and although she was a little wary at first, she's adjusted just fine. I like to keep her in my bedroom, because my roommate is a bit crazy with partying at night. But last night when my boyfriend picked her up to take her into the room, she scratched and clawed and jumped out of his arms. (Something she's never done before) Then, when she would allow herself to come in, she was freaking out and looking all over the room. Then, when she went back out into the living room, she was fine and relaxed and played around like it was any other night. What is going on with her??

Sounds almost like she saw or sensed something that spooked her.

Hi,

I agree with the other poster. Lucy was most likely frightened by something in the bedroom. To a sensitive cat, even a different smell or sound can be scary. Cats are creatures of habit.

I agree with the others. Something scared her in that room. It could be as simple as something fell and startled her earlier in the day and now she is afraid that it will get her again. Or a strange scent but there was something about that particular room.
