Thanks so much to anyone with advice on what I should be doing to clean my 6 week old Exotic Shorthair kitten's eyes and keep them stain free.

A lady I talked to in a recent cat show (who breeds himalayans) told me she uses a soft cloth with warm water only to clean them. Now, if the fur is getting stained, they sell these little wipes for kitties eyes. Also, I read somewhere else that a DILUTE solution of hydrogen peroxide in water also helps (but you have to be careful NOT GET IT IN the eyes, just the fur around it)

I know there are solutions and wipes designed especially for cats eyes so that they will not get stains on their fur. They probably would be safer than using something homemade. I found a product at www.ferretstore.com which is called Gimborn Eye Clear. They claim it is safe for cats.
