Feline viruses

Just curious - do feline viruses (that some cats are born with)generally happen to the entire litter? I just found out that my 1yr old kitten was not tested for the typical fatal feline viruses that exist. She will be on Thursday. I do know that her sibling (same litter) tested negative. What are the chances that my kitten could come back positive (Molly is strictly indoor). Thanks.

They don't necessarily affect all the kittens in the litter, but chances are great that if your 1 yr old did indeed have any of the fatal viruses, she would either not be around or have displayed some symptoms already. I am sure Molly will be negative.

Thank you for the feedback - and yes, she was negative. I had blood work done when I took her to the vet last Thursday. She did however have a 105 temp. The vet was perplexed, as she did not seem especially bloated and her tests came back negative. He did however put her on an antibiotic and as of today she is much more herself. I wondered if maybe she was just adjusting to the heat. In any event, I am so very relieved. Thanks again.
