Can there be something as too much combing?

karlacue Dec 21, 2003 09:33 PM

I comb Bob thoroughly AT LEAST once a day. Not that I am that compulsive, is just that he demands combing throughout the day. For Bob, there is nothing as too much combing.
Now, my question is: Could I actually *damage* his coat by combing it too often? I would think that overcombing may cause fur breakage, but then I don't know how resilient kitty fur may be.
Ideas? Thanks much.

I think as long as you don't see any visible signs of damage such as broken off hairs, dull coat, or bald patches, you could go ahead and comb Bob to his heart's content.
