Help!! Please

Well my girlfrien and I went to the NARBC this weekend and picked up what I thought was a healthy Leopard Gecko. I gave it a look over for health problems. There was nothing visably wrong with it. Even when I held it. However I was mistaken. I did not get to see the thing walk do to it being in a deli cup. When it walks it does not move the back legs properly. It seems to me that it is either a birth defect or a spinal problem. Anyway I can not seem to get it to eat either crickets or mealworms. It is about 2 and 1/2 in. long and we got it from Pete's Geckos. If someone could give me their contact info I would appreciate it. Also I would like some advice on getting it to eat also.

Thank you
AJ

or does it just have troubles moving them? 2 1/2 inches seems pretty small, since they're usually between 2.5 and 3 inches when they hatch.

if they are rubbery, it is probably metabolic bone disease, lots of calcium can help this out.
For picky eaters, I sometimes feed a waxworm or two then a few mealies. It usually takes them a minute to figure out they're not eating waxies anymore

It could also have just hatched, (by the size it could have) If that is the case they don't normally eat until after their first shed.

good luck!

Here is their e-mail petesgeckos@alltel.net You should contact them right away. I'm sure they will want to know. In the mean time make sure the gecko has all the basics. Correct temp(90 degree hot side, room temp cool side), A humid hide on the hot side, another hide on the cool side, food, water, and access to some pure calcium. Dust any prey items as well. Hope this helps and keep us updated. Jeremy
