I'm having a problem that I haven't had before. I have three cats, a four year old male, Pongo a five year old female, Panda and a three month old female, Mystique. when I first brought Mystique home Pongo became best friends with her and they constanly played and chased each other. I have just had Mystique spayed. After having her fixed I brought her home and the other cats hissed at her because of the smell which I know is common. The problem is that it's been a few days now and the hospital smell is gone, Panda has started treating Mystique the same as before, but Pong is still showing aggressive signs toward her and has hit her a couple of time. Mystique keeps trying to play with him like before but he wants nothing to do with her. Has anyone else had this problem?

Pongo may be a little more sensitive to the new smell or even her lack of "female" smell now. I would suggest a Comfort Zone Plug-in with Feliway and see if that helps calm him a bit. Also you can do the towel trick - rub Mystique first with the towel then Pongo, then Mystique again to exchange scents.

I agree with Madame Alto. Perhaps Pong is just a little more smell sensitive. The towel trick is a good idea as is the plug in. Let us know how that works for you
