HELP! need info on rabies!

my cat just brought in a bat, and around here, about 40% of bats have rabies. we caught the bat in a bucket and put it outside and it flew away. im not sure what to do about my cat skeeter. is it possible that she could of gotten the disese? my mom says not to worry, but im very afraid my cat might have gotten rabies. its saturday night so we cant call a vet. it sounds kind of silly, but im afraid to near her. she is very confused about whats going on.
my mom says shes had her shot.

please answer!

If she's had her rabies vaccine, then she should be protected. You might want to call the vet on Monday to confirm when her last rabies vaccination was. I am not sure there is any test to tell if she's been exposed.

Did the bat bite or scratch your cat? She should be ok if she has been vaccinated. Call the vet tomorrow.

Definitely call the vet tomorrow and discuss what happened. If the cat's rabies shots are up-to-date there should be no problem, but you will probably want to monitor her for a while to be sure that she is OK.
