Kitten with Sight Problem

aisha Oct 12, 2004 12:45 PM

I found three very feral kittens (still have bite marks) a couple weeks ago. Within a week they were tame and house broken. I found a home for one and I thought a second (the runt) but he was returned the next day. I noticed before he has a cute hi step when he walks but I started questioning if there was something wrong. He falls down alot and runs into things sometimes. When he runs its more like a jog. I took him to the vet but all the vet could say its some type of sight problem. The vet mentioned retinal detactment or depth perception problem. I know he can see close up a little because he follows my hand. Has anyone had a cat like this or know what type of sight problem it is. I will very likly keep him just have to let my boyfriend say it official. His name is Bigby (a.k.a. Big Bad Wolf)but my boyfriend calls him Mr. Magoo.

Hello,
Guess you fell in love....here are some tips on helping you sweet baby. If you have other animals get collars with bells on them, so your friend can hear them instead of see them. Also, get him some toys that make noise when they are played with...he will go right after them. Shake his food when you feed him and let him come to you. We have a blind kitten and he now knows you two story house like he can see. It's amazing.
