I just got my kitten back from the vet from a spay....I notice that when she is breathing she sort of "tenses" up, almost like she is in pain. I asked about any pain meds, if she needed any, and they said she should be fine. She seems fine, wanting to jump up on things and all. I'm just worried that she is in pain and that I cant do anything about it

Give her to Monday. But if she starts acting really different. Seems to sleep all the time, hard time walking call the vet. Also watch the stitches. She might just feel different. I'm not sure about pain.

It could be that she feels some discomfort when she breathes, but not when she jumps or climbs. As long as she seems to be acting happy I doubt if she is in too much pain. Keep an eye on her though, and if she should act like she hurts then get her to a vet or emergency vet ASAP.
