little jools has grown into quite the independent cat. she won't let me clip her nails. when i try, she BITES me. HARD. this is quite a switch from the only other feline i had who seemed to love it when i brushed him, cut his nails, and didn't even mind me giving him a bath once in a while. this little one can be a terror. i don't know what to do. her nails continue to grow and curl into hooks heading toward the pads. they don't fall off even with all of the scratching and climbing she does on her tree poles and scratching posts. should i wrap her up in some kind of straightjacket to get this done or is there some other way.

My vet clips nails for five dollars and doesn't charge an office visit. Maybe yours does the same. If not are you holding her foot tight enough. It you don't it tickles. Sounds like it might be a two person job.

There is a product called a Klaw Kontrol bag that you can put your cat in - it has zippers for each leg - you can do one leg at a time. Go to drsfostersmith.com and run a search for it.

We have several cats that become very violent when we do grooming, some it's face cleaning, others it's tooth brushing and for some it's the nails. We do all of it as a two person job and we still constantly end up bit and sctratched. I don't really know what to tell you to do (or I'd do it myself lol), but honestly you just have to do what you have to do and ignore the pain.
