anger issue in HEAT?

parakeet Apr 22, 2005 05:26 AM

Hi,

I have just found a new cat, shes about 1.5 years old no more than 2 (says the vet)The vet also said that she felt like she had been spayed and she was declawed (from the past owner)
She was the nicest little thing about 2 days ago, loved to be cuddled and kissed on, but now shes always rolling on the floor and wont let you pet her anywhere but her head. Now I know my aunts cats did the same when they were in heat and they were not spayed. Can a spayed cat still be in heat? SHould I get another vet just for 2 oppions to make sure that SHE is indeed spayed?

answers would be nice,
TY,
Keet

The easiest way to check if the cat is in heat is to scratch her fanny right above the tail. If she is in heat, she should go into position for mating. Which is crouching with her tail down and to the side for mating. She will also make a purrrrrt sound. And move her back legs like she is walking. She should also be calling for boys. If she isn't going any of this, I would take her to a Vet, yours or another and have her checked out. Mood changes that drastic are cause for concern. Let us know, Keet.
