Kitten born with no eyes

LisaG Jul 03, 2005 11:44 AM

Hello, we found a 5 week old kitten that according to the vet was born with no eyes. Several people said put it to sleep. Of course that is not an option with us. Just wondering if someone has suggestions on the care of this little black bundle of joy? Thanks, Lisa

I know that we have at least one member that has raised a kitten with no eyes. I'm sure she can give you some advice.
Good luck and keep us updated.

I belong to the yahoo support group Handicats2 and there is at least one person there who has a blind cat.

Hello,
I have a kitty with no eyes also. He had to have them removed but I would love to help you. We have found some really great ways to keep our baby happy. He will be a year old in a month or so and he is wonderful. He is on this message board under Stevie the Wonder cat.

Hi,
I have a kitten with no eyes, she had to have them removed at 5 weeks. Her name is Frannie and she is very well adjusted, she gets along great with the rest of the "family" 1 dog, 2 other cats, 2 ferrets and her best friend, a bunny. She is just like any sighted cat, she even chases bugs! So trust me, you have a true treasure on your hands and in your heart. Enjoy!
