In addition to the urinary issues, I just discovered that my cat has fleas. This is my first experience with them but I know from other people's experience that they are difficult to get rid of.
I need some pointers. What kinds of holistic treatments are available for the cat? Also, what do I need to do IN the apartment to get rid of the fleas/eggs that may be hanging out?!

I would get something from the vet for the fleas. Most vets will recommend either Frontline or Advantage. Please don't use anything that is over-the-counter, as these products are very dangerous for cats.
You shouldn't have to treat the apartment unless it's flea infested.
