I have 2 cats that are 2years old one is 12ib or so and the other is like 16ib i am feeding them iams dry all the time and wet sometimes but i have been seeing that wet is better for big cats so should i try wet all the time to see if thay lose some ibs but thay eat when ever thay want thay eat dry whenever and wet when i give it to them so should i stop that and only feed them like 3 times a day or less?? thanks Dominique

Hi,

What I would do is feed canned food twice a day, 1/2 can for each cat per meal, and give them only a limited amount of dry food. Cats that are free-fed dry food are often overweight because of all the carbs in the food.

Canned food is best because it contains much more protein, which is more natural for cats. Some of the cheaper brands still contain a lot of carbs so it's best to read the labels and get the best quality you can afford. Look for real meat as the first ingredient.
