Cat is always vomiting

classywvwoman Jan 08, 2005 02:40 PM

My adult cats are always vomiting after eating.I have tried dry food, canned food, and a mixture. I give them no colors, no preservatives, no artifical flavors added food. It doesn't seem to matter. They vomit after they eat almost every day. I asked the vet, and he suggested a food allergy. They can not be allergic to every food on the market. HELP.My carpets are suffering, and the poor cats are not feeling great doing this so often either.
Thanks

First try raising the food dishes up a few inches so the cat doesn't have to bend over so much to eat.

Then see if you can get your hands on a rice/duck or duck/pea type cat food. Your vet should know how to get that for you. You may have to experiment for a while and see if there is a special formula food the cats can tolerate.

Frankly, I would also find another vet and get a second opinion. Perhaps a feline only specialist or a veterinary gastrologist if you have one in your area. The cat should not be so very sick.
