Unusual behavior...

lpnyc Apr 21, 2005 04:25 PM

I need help, Wednesday night I was on the phone and my cat was sleeping on a chair, when I hung up the phone about 5 minutes later, she awoke and immediately started Hissing & growling extremely loud. Never has she done this before, yes she has hissed but never acted like this, this went on for about twenty minutes then she went and hid the rest of the night.
Thursday morning I got up and put food in her bowl, she started
hissing again. I was out for a few hours and when I came back her actions started again like the night before. She went back into hiding I hear her hissing and growling. She
acts as if she is going to attack me. She is 8yrs old, and never has acted like this.

I really need help.

Hi,

I feel that any pet that exhibits sudden behavioral changes needs to be examined by a vet. Your cat may be ill, in pain, or even be having some type of seizure. It will take a vet to determine exactly what is going on with your kitty.

Please make an appointment to take your cat in and let us know how it goes. Your vet will most likely want to run labwork and possibly take x-rays before he or she will be able to arrive at a diagnosis.

Regards,
