3 yr old cat not eating for 1 day

Hello,
I have a three year old cat. I have been her co-owner for six months. She is usually playful and rowdy at night when I come home from work but was different last night. She greated me as usual but then when straight to her favorite spot on the couch at 6:30pm. She stayed there all through the night and this morning. She usually sleeps with me and crawls all over me during breakfast because she wants pets right away in the morning. Neither of those things happened last night / this morning. She had a very small portion of food. She usually eats 3/4 of a cup and maybe had 1/8 cup yesterday. The litterbox was used slightly more than normal, both types of treasures.(not trying to be gross)

My question is, when do you call the vet? Do cats just have off days? (My boyfriend is out of town for work for a week and he never leaves for this long, so maybe she is worried about him not coming back or something??)

Cats can have one off day, and the additional "treasures" in the litterbox are probably the result of some tummy upset. However, now it will have been two days - that's about the limit, so if she's still off her feed when you read this, take her to the vet!
