Which would be more rare and expensive? -what would you do?

h0mersimps0n Oct 13, 2003 11:12 PM

if I crossed my two striped anery's (resulting in 100% striped anery) OR
if I crossed a striped anery with a striped hypo (resulting in normal stripes het for ghost)?

I'm thinking to myself, the world/market is becoming inindated with corns and if I am going to eventually add to the already nearly saturated market I better add something rare/exotic (and therefore hopefully expensive).

I have one male hypo stripe, one female normal stripe, one male anery stripe and one female anery stripe?

I also have a normal male anery and pseudo zig-zag female anery.

What would you do?

thanks

If you want to sell the corns I would try to breed high quality normal stripes.. And if they are het for something that is a plus for the potential buyer. But if you really want to breed corn to make money I would invest in morphs like Lavender, Bloodred, Motley and try to combine these into one snake

what med. school are you going to? What area of medicine? just currious. My wife and sister are both R.N.s

I'm not looking to have my hobby pay for my medical school education or anything, it'd just be nice to get more than the $12 per snake that I did with my normals this year.

I'm lining up to purchase my first Green Tree Python. I think that eventually I'll probably have a go at breeding them... I love a challenge

In 2000 I bought a pair of unrelated Sorong GTP's. Awesome snakes. The male yellow and the female bright red. They went like crazy. Fed for me every 7 days and grew to almost 3' in 12 months. Then one day after feeding my male lay dead on his branch.. I bought them as an investment and was planning on breeding them. So I was so disappointed I decided to sell all my expensive snakes and stick with my first love 'corns'. GTP's are too delicate for me.
