Adopted stray not eating

HollieTheMom Jan 19, 2007 09:59 AM

I am hopeing it is stress but the cat that adopted us "Beauty" did not eat yesterday and does not appear to be drinking water either Beauty is at the vet hopeing Beauty is okay but it is concerning that so many people on here go to the vet and there is no known reason for the not eating. it also is very scarey since my first "kid" Ghost had to be put to sleep because she stopped eating and got fatty liver and kidney failure very quickly. Even though she passed away 3 years ago it has been a long time that we have been petless and now we we jump back in to resuce a beautiful cat it feels like it is going to happen again.
Good news is Beauty does not have Feline Aids or Lukemia just waiting on the next update after the X-rays to check for blockage.

Hi,

Please don't give up hope. There are lots of things that can cause a cat to stop eating that are treatable. Even if Beauty has a blockage, chances are that surgery will be successful.

It is very good that Beauty doesn't have Feline Leukemia. I'll be thinking about her and sending Glow that the vet will be able to treat whatever is ailing her.

Please keep us updated on how she does.

Regards,
PHKitkat
