How Can You Tell If A Cat Has Been Spayed?

bethj312 Nov 06, 2003 11:21 AM

Hi! I am new here and I have a question. In October a cat came to my house and hasn't left since. I decided to keep her and she is really nice. I think someone dumped her. Ever since I got her, she is getting heavier and heavier. I am not sure if she is pregnant or has worms. I am going to take her to the vet next week. She doesn't appear to be fat if you looked at her, but when you pick her up she is really heavy. Is there anyway to tell if a cat has been spayed? She gets the same amount of food as my three other cats, and none of them are as heavy as her. Any suggestions would be appreciated.
Thanks!
Beth

Does her stomach feel hard? or her nipples starting to stick out. Those are signs of being preg.
I am sure when you bring her to the vet they will be able to tell you if she has been spayed.
Thank you for saving her.

Good Luck

I took her to the vet yesterday-they think she might be pregnant!! They aren't sure though but said I will be able to tell in about 10 days becase she'll start to get really fat. If she isn't pregnant, I am going to have her spayed ASAP.

Well hopefully she isn't pregnant and you will be able to spay her soon. If she is there are a lot of people on here that will be able to help you with kitten questions.
GOod Luck,
