cat passes gas and is bloated

amyk0213 Jan 07, 2004 07:11 PM

my kitten is 8 months old. I got her from a shelter about 2 months ago. Since then she has been treated for: ringworm, a cold, tapeworm, runny eyes, and some other parasite. Her diarrhea has gone away but now she keeps farting and is bloated. She also doesn't like if you touch her stomach and cries if you press it.
I recently gave her wet food to see if she would like it but I don't think it is from that. She has been sleeping a lot the past 3 days and her stool is somewhat soft. Should I take her to the vet again? I don't know what else could be wrong with her!? I just want her to feel better.

Since the cat is in pain, she does need to go back to the vet. And since kittens can go downhill fast, she needs to go ASAP.

Tummy troubles and kittens seem to go together. She may have some hard-to-detect parasite. Or she could have a food allergy, irritible bowel syndrome or some other intestinal problem. The worst part is that it may take some time and effort to figure out exactly what is wrong with her.

Good luck to you! Let us know what the vet says.

MA is right bring her to the vet. Also, if you change food alot it can upset your kitten's tummy. Try to keep her on the same food and not switch between brands all the time. At least that is what my vet told me.
Good luck

the vet said she probably is still irregular from the medicine she was taking for the parasites but he said to keep an eye on her. She has not been bloated since, and she seems to be fine. Hopefully she will be fine from now on!
