cat's anal glands

amyk0213 Mar 18, 2004 04:51 PM

My cat always has what looks like little pieces of feces right outside her anal glands. I pulled one of the pieces off and she didn't seem to mind but she sacreeted her "scent" a few days later. I don't know if this was because of what I did or if she did because her and my other cat were fighting that day. Anyway, I have pulled off these little pieces of feces before and they just come back. Her anal glands are not swollen or anything like that and she doesn't scoot her butt on the floor or excessively lick her anus. What could be wrong?

Your cat may not be grooming herself properly and this would explain the feces around the anus. I would have her checked by a vet just to be sure there is nothing else wrong and just to be sure that she doesn't have impacted anal glands.
