Octavia got into some nylon string I was working with and I think swallowed about four inches. It could be more but the color is varied and I think that's what I can't account for.
I've given her hairball medicine and will watch for it but is there anything else I can do to help it pass through okay? Thanks for any help or advice. Katc

Oh dear! Definitely call a vet tomorrow! You'll probably have to have some sort of ultrasound to be sure the string isn't twisting around in the intestine! In the meantime, watch for signs of lethargy or pain and take her to the emergency clinic if she seems to be distressed.
