For anything up to 500 grams you can get a food scale or a postal scale at a local retailer. The food scales are a bit cheaper and can also tell you how many calories your snakes would have if you made sandwiches out of them.
(the scales can weigh things heaver than 500 grams, but the logistics of getting the snake on the scale get difficult.)

Peter: It's OK, I'll handle it. I read a book about something like this.
Brian: Are you sure it was a book? Are you sure it wasn't NOTHING?

There are also places online to get them. I am a falconer, so i use them to way my birds as well as my snakes. There is an awesome scale at northwoodsfalconry.com . Or, they are on ebay, or staples or office depot have them cheap.

how cheap is cheap?
Hey do you work with any peregrines? They happen to be my favorite raptor. A buddy I went to highschool with was a genius heading for big things. He somehow ended up studying raptors for a summer job, dropped everything, fell in love with it and dissappeared.
