Hi. Today I came home and found some feces on my floor. When I looked closer I saw that it was diarrhea and that there was blood in it. What could be causing this? Is it serious?

I would recommend giving the vet a call - since the blood was connected with diarreah it is probably the result of some sort of tummy irritation which may just go away on its own. However, to be sure its best to get some medical advice. Probably your vet will ask you to observe for a day and then get the cat in if things continue.

It is more than likely not serious, but your vet should be contacted just in case it's something that needs attention ASAP. If the cat should display any signs of a more serious condition - vomiting, lethargy, not wanting to eat or hiding under furniture then you should get the cat to the vet or an emergency vet!
