Hi,

I need some advice for a friend. She has a 3 year old cat and lately she hasn't been feeding her cat this vitality formula for cats over 7 years of age for about 1 month now. I was just wondering but can feeding this cat this kind of formular cause any harm to her or her system?

I'm confused on what you are asking. She has a 3 yr old cat that she has not been feeding food for senior cats. Or she is feeding food for senior cats to the younger cat.

She is feed food for senior cats to her younger cat.

Probably it won't hurt the younger cat too much, although it may either be too calorie intense or too low in calories for a younger cat. Unless there is a compelling reason to feed the cat this formula, she should feed a more age-appropriate food.

Well her cat is rather over weight. She's been feeding her Purina Salmon and Tuna falvored one and she decided to take the 30-day challenge that if her cat doesn't lose weight in a matter of 30 days. Well she had tried that and it didn't work for her. She tried it again by decreasing the amounts of food she gives her. I had asked her how much exactly she feeds her and she said 1/4 of a cup. She even tells me that she won't fill the bowl unless her cat as eaten all of it. So does this mean we should feed her less than 1/4 of a cup or feed her 1/4 just maybe twice a day?

Have your friend find a premium canned cat food in a pet store - look at ingrediants and if corn is listed anywhere move on to the next product. Then feed the cat whatever the minimum is for the desired weight. Also have your friend try to get the cat to play in five minute play sessions three or four times a day.

I had experienced something like this earlier when someone suggested feeding my cat a premium food without any corn in it. I had trouble however finding one at all. But do you know any brand named foods that don't have any corn in it? Thanks
