Help!!! Cat fell in motor oil...

karinzak Aug 06, 2005 10:45 AM

Several days ago, one of my cats, Lucy, a shy 3-year-old who is distrustful of people (I got her as a stray, she belonged to a woman who locked her in the garage and let her three sons terrorize her) fell in a vat of motor oil that was left outside uncovered by one of my neighbors. We washed her as well as we could, but her tummy and legs still look greasy, even though they're dry. She will not eat or drink anything, and she is hiding in the long drainage pipe under our driveway. We keep going outside to talk to her and offer her water, milk, cat food, and tuna (her favorite), but she only stares at us and meows pitifully. I don't know what to do. Please help! She is like one of the family and I just want her to be okay.

If you haven't done so already bring her to a vet IMMEDIATELY! She probably has swallowed some of the oil and this could have severe consequences.

Also, the fact that she hasn't been eating for days can lead to other SERIOUS liver complications, and a lack of water to dehydration.

Lucy is in danger, please get her seen by a vet immediately. Don't wait any longer!!
