What to do with cats when painting

lkitsch Aug 06, 2005 10:39 PM

I'm getting my house painted. Do I need to board my cats or can I have them back in the house the evening after the paint job is done?

Please contact your vet with the information of what paint you are using and how many rooms are being painted. He will be able to tell you if the paint you use is toxic for cats or if the cats can be kept in another room during and right after painting.

Tilda gave you a great answer! I might add that if the vet thinks the environment might be too toxic for the cats, it is probably not good for humans and you may want to make arrangement to spend the night somewhere else too!
