Fall over and breath funny? My cat was acting like he was gunna hack up a hair ball, not uncommon so i was like petting him 2 try and be like its ok and stuff and he just fell over and started breathing funny, and it scared me so i woke my mother up and told her and of course i was crying cuz he was meowing funny and breathing funny and i was scared something was wrong and she said to feed him, maybe hes just hungry, so i did and he ran over 2 the food dish, he seems ok now im still a little worried though, cuz its not like he was without food for a couple days im not sure but i think he had food this morning so i dont tink it should be making him act that way. i was sick 2day so maybe i just didnt notice he had no food..
he isnt old either hes like 4 i think
im 16 if your wondering

Hi There,

No, hunger cannot cause the symptoms you have described.

It sounds to me that the cat was coughing and was weakened by the effort. I highly recommend a vet check, including chest x-rays to determine if this kitty has something like heart disease or feline asthma. Both conditions would require medication, and can be extremely serious.

If this type of thing happens again, please seek veterinary care for your kitty immediately.

Regards,
PHKitkat
