Worming Kittens...

Kaseys412 Jun 23, 2006 09:40 AM

My mother just recently took in two abandoned kittens, they appear healthy in all ways except their bellies are so fat and firm, I just cringe knowing they are probably full of worms. We bought drontal for them but is it necessary to wait until they are a pound and a half? I know they are over a pound but I don't know how much so... thanks!

Hi,

These kittens really need to be examined by a vet and a fecal exam needs to be done as well. They don't necessarily have worms, and even though they appear healthy they may not be. They also need to be tested for FeLV and if they are healthy vaccinations need to be started.

A message board is not a good place to ask about a dose of anything. Please don't give anything to these kittens without consulting with your vet. It may do more harm than good.

Regards,
PHKitkat
