HELP - Somethins is not right with my African Clawed Frog

delphi927 Oct 14, 2003 03:03 AM

I have a male (i think) ACF who is about 5 years old (his name is Grover). On friday I noticed that the bottom of his left flipper (fin?) was a bit pink, and the left side of his behind was a little pink too. He ate and acted normal all weekend, but now his foot looks worse. There is what appears to be a little bubble by his toe area and it is still pink. I can only assume that this the is red leg or bloating disease which is referred to on so many websites, but i really don't know!
Should I give him a the Tetracycline or Oxycyline (the medications mentioned)? I don't like the idea of giving him medication without a proper diagnosis, but I don't want to sit back and do nothing. I would really really appreciate some advice on this, and if you have encountered this disease how exactly do you administer the antibiotics. Any advice would be extremely helpful to me and Grover.
Thanks...
