Bloody mucus?

Coelith Nov 15, 2006 01:30 AM

Hi. Tonight I went into my basement and I saw that my cat had deficated on the floor. After cleaning it up, I went feed my cat, and I noticed small bits of what looked like bloody mucus leading up to the litter box, where there was another bit of stool with some more of the bloody mucus on it. I've never seen this happen with my cat before. Is this somthing I should be worried about? Should I call my veterinarian? Thanks.

Hi There,

I think that making an appointment with the vet is a good idea. Normally, a small amount of blood in the stool is nothing to be concerned about, but this sounds like it may be serious.

Please take your kitty in and let us know how it goes.

Regards,
PHKitkat
