I think I have fleas in my hair!

Hi All!!
I already have ringworms, but I think I have fleas in my hair!! AHHHHH~!! My cat's got fleas, and my scalp has been kinda itchy. I could be just paranoid, but I have little pimple sized bumps on the back of my ears and sides of my neck. Are there fleas in my hair? I have long and thick hair. Without having to shave my head or cut it really short, what can I do to get rid of fleas?? My cat doesn't seem to have many, according to the vet, so why are they on me? Please help me to be free of fleas!! Thanks in advance!!

I'd say first make sure you really do have fleas and you aren't itchy because you think you have them. Do fleas fall out when you comb your hair? Probably the simplest way to be sure is to have someone look at your scalp and see if they find any. If you have a rash or bumps on your neck/ears, you may want to have your doctor check it out if it doesn't go away in short order. It could be any number of things in addition to the slim chance of fleas (since you shampoo regularly). I can't think fleas would last thru repeated hair washings...

Sit very, very still. If you have fleas, you'll feel them travel across your scalp. It's unique, once you figure it out, you'll never mistake it. And you'll have very specific itchy spots, just like a skeeter bite.

Since your cat had so few the first vet missed them, I wouldn't worry. He is being treated, you wash, the fleas are losing.
