Tritrichomonas foetus

phillyboyintn Sep 22, 2007 12:50 AM

I'm pretty sure 2 of my 3 bengals have this. They have been to the vet and all of their fecal tests show negative for any parasites. The 2 bengals however have frequent daily defecation and it's always liquid and smells AWFUL. Every now and again there will be bloody mucus on said runny poop. If this is indeed Tritrichomonas foetus, how do I treat it? Thanks in advance!

Hi There,

I highly recommend you get another opinion on your cats. There are many things that can cause the problems they are having and they really need to be worked up by a vet. Please do not assume you know what is wrong with them and try to treat it yourself. Even if you know for sure, it is never a good idea to self-medicate an animal. Even "natural" products can be deadly to cats.

Please take your cats in and let us know what happens.

Regards,
PHKitkat
