Distemper shots

abukuchick Nov 08, 2004 10:11 PM

I was wondering if it's ok for a kitten to get 2 distemper shots (at 8 and 12 weeks) instead of the customary 3. I'm not sure if it's related but about a week after Kola got her last two shots she started to get diareha and her appetite has decreased. It could be a coincidence but I don't want to take that chance and have her get sick again. She does need rabies but I don't want to give her something she doesn't need!

I am sure they need all 3 to be fully protected but you could ask your Vet and see.

My vet always does two shots. I have never heard of three. But we usually get them at 12 weeks and 16 weeks.
