3 Meals to 2

abukuchick Jan 12, 2005 10:20 AM

I was wondering at what age people thought kittens should eat 2x's per day instead of 3. Kola is still eating ProPlan kitten food in the morning and evening and having the big cats' Wellness for lunch with them. She's about 5 1/2 months old right now, and doesn't seem to want to eat as much as she used to. She's eating about 3/4 of her lunch serving and about 1/2 of her kitten food at each meal. She's big and healthy (whoopie!) and I was thinking about giving her two meals a day, spaced evenly apart since she also has free access to our Chicken Soup crunchies. Any thought on what age I should do this? I can't remember what age I started to decrease meals with the other three and I want to make sure Kola gets all the nutrition she needs as a growing baby! Any thoughts would be great!

I would go ahead and try it. If she is hungry, she will let you know. Sounds like she is getting plenty to eat and slowing down the 3rd meal by herself.
