How to calm Noah down at night?

noahthekitty Apr 28, 2005 11:20 AM

Right now my hubby and I have been having Noah sleep in his cage at night otherwise he will tear up everything and last night he actually tried to climb up our bed and clawed my face in the process. We would really like to have him out at night and have him sleep with us but we just cant seem to calm him down. Once he gets in his cage he usually just lays right down until the morning, but I dont want to make him lay in there forever!

If he is happy in his cage then that is ok. How old is Noah? I forget. I know you told me. At any rate, try playing an interactive game with him right before bed. Like a feather toy or something like that. Really give him a good work out. Then he should be tired. If he starts playing on the bed or being a little furry pest, say "no" and get up and put him in his cage or off the bed. And everytime he starts it again, do it again. Be consistant and he should figure out that the bed is for sleeping on only and to leave the room if he wants to play.

Noah is two months old. It never fails, whenever we want to go to bed, he wants to play. We play with him a lot during the day and he get worn out, but then wakes up and gets awnry close to bed time. We usually just put him in his cage when we go to bed, and he is okay until morning. The nights we leave him out we will try the "no" thing or else take him off the bed or put him in his cage.
