Might be getting Noah a playmate!

noahthekitty May 01, 2005 03:51 PM

I was talking to a friend online last night and asked him if he knew of anyone that had any kittens they need to find a home for. He said he might, then called me today to tell me his friends neighbor's cat had kittens two weeks ago and he is going to have the guy call him to tell him what they look like, and the sex of the kittens. He is also going to tell them that I would be interested, but I definitely would wait longer than 4 weeks(how old noah was when I got him), maybe 8 weeks or so.

Hi Karmen,
This is exciting news. I was wondering what your going to do about your landlord? Do you plan on moving in the next 2 to 3 months? I know Noah would love a playmate but if your landlord won’t allow another pet do you want to risk having to give it up to a shelter?
If you are moving or your landlord has had a change of heart that is great you get to add to your fur family. And I can’t wait to see pictures of Noah and baby playing together. Make sure you wait until the kitten is at least 8 weeks old. Also, there is great advice on the introducing new pets board.

Well, we are kind of trying to get out of here right now. Our landlord really sucks, he wont do any repairs to our building and never calls before coming over and knocking on our door when he feels like it when he does want to do repairs. Our outside stairs are rickety, and he was told by the housing people to have it fixed in 10 days, and that was about 2 months ago. If we do stay, I will most likely ask him first if its okay.

Yeah, waiting until they are older is better for them. I'm glad you might get him a playmate. That will help with his behaviour and he will love having another kitten to play with. They will be best buds! Just a warning, they might not get along at first (they might hiss or whatever) but that is normal. Just wait for them to get used to each other.

Yes, the kitten should be at least 8 weeks old...12 preferably. By then they are fully weaned and Mommy has taught them what she needs to teach them to be proper little cats. Noah will be so excited but yes, he may hiss a little at first and so will the new one. Just give them time, young ones adjust fast
