Getting him to "go"

jadzia Aug 11, 2005 11:44 AM

Zephy doesn't seem to interested in going on his own yet. Everyone seems to say by week 3 they should. He'll be 4 weeks on Sunday. I occasionally find him with a dirty tail, but he holds it in.
Should I maybe not give him that little nudge every time he eats, as I have been doing? You know, give him more of a chance to really try on his own? Or will he just start going despite of it when he is good and ready?

Well, you might wait a bit after he eats and put him in the litter to see if he gets the idea. Sooner or later, he will have no choice in the matter. I would make sure that when you help him, you put him in the box to do it so he gets the idea that the box is where he is to go.
