HELP!!!

LizNJason4205 May 27, 2006 11:18 AM

Last night I found a litter of kittens in my basement (3 as far as i can tell) I know there was a stray cat around about a month or so ago but havent seen her since and to be quite honest I am afraid my dogs may have gotten a hold of her. The kittens look to be about 6-8 weeks old but I need help trying to catch them so I can take them to a vet to be checked. Any ideas???

Hi There,

What I would do is borrow a humane trap, either from your vet, a shelter, or a rescue group. Bait the trap with something smelly and tasty, like tuna or salmon, and the kittens should go for it. You won't get them all at once, though.

Thanks for wanting to take care of these precious babies!

Regards,

A trap is certainly the best way to get the kits. If they are at all tame, you can try some feeding and see if you can get them when they come to eat. They are still young enough to get socialized and make them proper little pet kits
