Update on Darlene.

Stryder Jun 25, 2006 02:12 AM

She is over 6.5 oz. Almost trippled her size. She's growing all proportional, and sturdy. She's not so frail and wobbly as she was. Her eyes are even begining to open just a tad.

I'm a little bit worried about a couple of things, and, of course, the vet is closed. But, all in all, she's thriving!

She has just the slightest bit of goob in her little eyes, and she has sneezed several times. (Did I nbot mention that we panic over everything with her?)I was almost tempted to put a bit of Terramycin in her eyes....

Also, he belly is getting rather round and distended looking. We are at odds over wheather it's normal baby fat, or not. She's still eating, pooping (at least once a day.) and growing.

Of course you worry, she is your baby. Sounds like she is doing great and you are taking wonderful care of her. I would check with the Vet but would not be to worried about her. As long as she is eating, pooping and peeing and still yelling at you, she is doing well. She certainly is adorable!!!

She opened her eyes this morning.

SHe has learned to be happy, and to show it. Soon as those little eyes learn to work, the next thing to learn will be play.

Than she will be obnoxious all over the place. We're pretty excited about that.

You can wipe the eyes out with warm water. The sneezing is most likely from the eyes draining down into the nose (The nasolacrimal duct drains tears from the eye into the nose. That's why when you cry, your nose runs.)
Kittens usually come with worms. When she's just a bit bigger, the vet will give her some drontal to eliminate them.
She's doing very well!!!
